When Public.com set out to make public markets in the USA accessible to everyone, they chose Copenhagen as the engineering engine room behind the ambition. With the headquarters in New York and only the CTO and a small handful of people on the ground in Denmark, GlobeSearch was trusted to build the Development Center out from that early core.
Public.com approached us in 2020 - more ambition and ideas than results at that point, and a Danish footprint that consisted of the CTO and a few selected team members. The brief was clear: establish a professional software Development Center in Copenhagen capable of carrying a US fintech challenger into hyper-growth. With more than $400M raised from leading VCs, that ambition was put on the fast lane.
We responded with a dual-track strategy. On one side, we activated our network and domain expertise to move senior engineers, team leads, QA specialists and managers at the pace the business demanded. On the other, we partnered with PR agency HELP on a deliberate employer-brand play - placed stories in Børsen and DR, sustained presence on LinkedIn - to make Public.com a destination of choice for senior Danish tech talent.
The Copenhagen organisation grew from a small founding group to around fifty. Today the strategy is laser-focused on the US market, with a planned IPO in the next two to three years as the next major milestone. International expansion remains a possibility further down the line - one we'd personally love to see, as we'd happily use the platform ourselves.
More recently, Public.com has moved decisively into AI - and were the first to introduce an actual AI brokerage, taking the category another step forward.
